Nutrition counselling

A non-diet approach to health, where all bodies are worthy bodies.

How can I support your well-being?

  • Health and wellness

Medical nutrition therapy for a range of conditions. Take a health-gain rather than weight-loss approach...

  • Yo-yo dieting

Intuitive eating counselling supports you to unlearn diet dogma and untangle from rule driven eating. Find ease with food from a place of mind/body awareness….

  • Stress eating

Whatever term you use - emotional eating, stress eating, binge eating - get support for a relationship with food that is causing you unhappiness…

How I work

  • Non-Diet Nutrition Counseling

A socially just, health centred philosophy of care. Read more about non-diet nutrition counselling here.

  • Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)

A detailed nutritional assessment which informs a plan that is customised to your health concerns, symptoms, medical history, needs, capabilities, resources and goals.

  • Meal Planning and Plating

Flexible, structured, predictable meal planning system using the Plate-by-Plate Approach.

  • Nutrition Psychoeducation

Understanding the science that drives our eating and lifestyle behaviours. Addressing nutrition myths and misinformation that get in the way of nourishment.

  • Intuitive Eating Counselling

An evidence based, flexible, non-diet approach grounded in body respect. Intuitive eating integrates instinct, emotion, and rational thought. It is is one gateway toward cultivating presence and ease with food, movement and body image.

  • Body image coaching

Sessions allow gentle space to unravel weight stigma and diet culture and how they have woven into your relationship with food, movement and body image.

  • Practical kitchen skills

Approaching food shopping and food prep free of diet culture rules. Information is tailored to your abilities, your time, your budget.

  • Guided Self-Help (GSH)

Specific to binge eating disorder (BED). Guided self help is recommended as part a stepped care model of treatment for BED (NICE 2017).

  • Self-care practices

I run group programmes in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), yoga and provide one-to-one mindful eating practices. These are powerful practices that support meaningful and lasting behaviour change from internal wisdom rather than external measures. Group programmes also create community.
