Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

MBSR is an evidence-based, group, 8-week programme of systematic and intensive training in mindfulness meditation, mindful movement and everyday mindfulness.

  • MBSR is the original mindfulness training program.   Scientific research over 40+ years demonstrates benefits for a broad spectrum of stress-related issues including:  chronic illness; anxiety; chronic pain; poor sleep; Irritable Bowel Syndrome.   MBSR has been shown to enhance well-being. 

  • Each session involves mindfulness meditation practices and teachings from ancient Eastern wisdom traditions integrated with western psychological science, supported with group discussion.

  • As 8 weeks of practices and teachings unfold, we begin to cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness, self-compassion, self-acceptance, and wholeness. 

  • Through the process, we become familiar with our conditioned patterns of reactivity.  Mindfulness gives us a sense of clarity and connection to ourselves in the present moment, allowing us to meet both highs and lows in life with gentle steadiness and wisdom.  We become less snared by ingrained autopilot reactions.
